There won’t be any Rakhi Sawant show on New Year’s eve.

Ragini’s elimination from Bigg Boss has ruled out any chances of the item girl making big bucks at any New Year show.

Thanks to her re-entry on Bigg Boss, Rakhi has let go of several offers where her asking rate to perform is anywhere between Rs 5 to 7 lakh for the night.

Her manager, Manoj Prabhakar reveals that he has stopped entertaining calls soliciting Sawant’s services for the festive week.

“I’m only booking her for shows from February 2006 onwards. Even though the number of calls have reduced since people know she’s back on the show, there are some who are very persistent!” indiatimes

Shilpa paid 3 crores for 'Big Brother' !

Shilpa Shetty have been shooting double shifts everyday and been real busy. She has been chosen to play a part in the UK hit reality TV series 'Big Brother'.

She is the first Indian to be a part of it and whopping Rs 3 crores for it, regardless of her winning or losing in the show. She is leaving for London next month.

Her glamorous image got her the prestigious assignment. "My sex appeal lies in my body and my body language. My carriage my eyes my smile…everything," she laughs.

Big Brother will feature around 13 celebrity contestants who are closeted in a house for three months with no access to the outside world. Each week, one of them will be voted out by the audience.

Speculation was rife that Shetty would compete with celebrities including pop diva Whitney Houston, party girl Tara Reid and Kevin Federline, the ex-husband of Britney Spears.

India has it's own version of Big Brother, the currently running show Bigg Boss that plays on Sony television every night.

 

Mallika starts New Year with BANG !

Mallika Sherawat's much-touted New Year’s Eve performance at the J W Marriott, Juhu, ended on a sour note.

The Bollywood siren stormed off before the second part of her show as the hotel had allowed TV cameras to broadcast her performance live, without her permission.

Mallika plans to sue the hotel for the breach.

“Mallika is seriously discussing it with her legal advisors who may issue a legal notice to the hotel for breach of contract,” says a source close to Sherawat.

The source further added that the actress had taken a written undertaking from the hotel that banned media persons from filming her performance beyond 10 seconds.

“Mallika is very professional and the event was not designed according to the televised version. There are different lights, sets and positioning of cameras, which got her fuming,” adds her source..... read more

Shilpa Shetty to sex up Big Brother !

'Graceful', 'beautiful' and 'lovely Indian lady' were the words repeatedly used to describe Shilpa Shetty as she became the first Bollywood actress to enter the now famous portals of the Big Brother house – the mother of all reality shows.

She was, according to sources, included in the list of celebrities to "sex up the Channel 4 show".

The series featuring Shilpa is likely to be the steamiest of them all.

Despite the popularity of the show, it is bound to become hugely controversial back home and issues of public morality may crop up. However, the producers of Big Brother said that with the move, they hope to attract more than 2 million Asians living in the UK.

According to a report in the British daily Sun, 'The Dinner Date challenge will see housemates including former Miss Great Britain Danielle Lloyd and Shilpa Shetty pairing with the person they find most attractive. They will be fitted with special heart-rate monitors and must seduce, flirt and do whatever it takes to get their partners' pulse rates soaring.

The courtship will be "performed" at a candlelit table for two minutes while fellow housemates look on, according to agency reports.

The couple with the highest readings win the task.

 

Kareena at Her Hottest Best !

A forthcoming Yashraj Films’ production promises to present Kareena Kapoor in her hottest avatar till date.

We have already reported that Kareena has returned to Yash Raj camp by signing the banner’s next movie, to be directed by scriptwriter Victor.

Information trickling from various sources now reveals that Kareena will be playing a very glamourous role in the film. In fact, one source goes on to say that she would be her sexiest best in the movie.

The yet untitled film will have Kareena playing love interest to Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. Its shooting will begin in April 2007.

Kareena, who has not shot for any movie for last nine months, is eager to return to action. She has already been working out to get back into shape.

In January, she will shoot with Karan Johar for an advertisement for a popular brand of paints. Karan will direct Kareena after a long gap of four years since Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

In the second half of 2007, Kareena will shoot with Aamir Khan for Mani Ratnam’s movie Lajjo.

The aftershocks of Sony TV's game show Bigg Boss are being felt in the most unexpected places.

Rakhi Sawant, who was happy being an item bomb in films that flaunted her flesh in flashy appearances, has now mended her ways.

In Rahul Rawail's ensemble comedy Buddha Mar Gaya, which starts shooting January 25, Rakhi has been cast in a tailor-made role that requires no oomph, only chutzpah.

"I was hunting for a girl to play this zany, liberated, frank and fearless girl called Kim in my comedy. No one seemed to fill the bill until I saw Rakhi on Bigg Boss. I loved her spirit and honesty. I immediately decided to cast her," Rawail informs.

"Rakhi has no item songs, no striptease element to provide in Buddha Mar Gaya. I'm glad I found her to play the role. I can't think of anyone better," said Rawail.

The cast of Buddha Mar Gaya comprise of Om Puri, Paresh Rawal, Mobhano Modi-Kotwal and Anupam Kher who plays a corpse.

Clad in the kashta sari, Tanushree had a blast dancing to the folk number in ‘Risk’.

Tanushree Dutta’s lavani (popular music form of Maharashtra) number ‘Mala lagali konachi hitchki’ in Vishram Sawant’s forthcoming film ‘Risk’ is racing up the musical charts.

Tanushree, who plays a dancer in the film, has undergone around nine changes in this song.

Interestingly, all the costumes have been designed by Vishram. Speaking on this peppy lavani, Vishram says, “The film is an on-the-edge -the-seat thriller. We have brought in this lavani as a relief element. It’s based on the famous Marathi song ‘Hichki’.”

He adds, “The movie is based in Maharashtra. So the song reinforces the local flavour.”

Tanushree risked a sting in 'Risk' !

While the Bengali bombshell Tanushree Dutta will get the testosterones going in high gear in her lavani number Hichki for Vishram Sawant's forthcoming film 'Risk', few know that the song almost proved to be a risk to her life.

During the shoot, the actress danced with a live scorpion at her feet-only she thought it was fake!

Tanushree recalls her ‘stinging’ experience whilst shooting the number. She says, “I was ready for the shot when a scorpion was placed right on my feet. I thought it was a fake one. But as soon as Vishram said ‘Action!’, the scorpion, to my shock, started moving. I jumped off the stage and started screaming. Everybody started laughing on the sets!”

Although Tanushree doesn’t have a big role in the action-packed film, she does play an important character that provides moral support to the hero Randeep Hooda . Tanushree has also shot an item song called “Hichki” in the film.

Shilpa faces racism in Big Brother !

The Indian beauty was branded a 'dog' by disgraced former Miss Great Britain Danielle.

Over 200 complaints were recieved from viewers of Big Brother UK that Bollywood star Shilpa is the victim of racist bullying.

The Indian beauty was branded a "dog" by disgraced former Miss Great Britain Danielle who blamed Shilpa for Carole's eviction on Friday night.

Both Danielle and Jo have imitated Shilpa's Indian accent, while Jade's evicted mum Jackiey dubbed her "The Indian" and refused to learn how to pronounce her name.

Some fans have been upset by what they believe is racist behaviour and have been voicing their concerns on internet forums.

Some comments Shilpa has faces from her house mates who keep pronouncing her name wrong:

"I asked for smoked mackerel and what's-her-name, Shullup, just looked at me like I was stupid," grumbled Lloyd.

Jack Tweedy has also been bitching about Shilpa with his girlfriend Jade, and he has allegedly made a racist remark against Shilpa, calling her “you bloody Paki”.‘Paki’ is a derogatory term mostly used by the whites in UK and Canada to insult a South Asian.

Although the television channel airing the programme is said to have muted the word with a beep sound, but the movement of Jack’s lips reveal what he said.

Shilpa was reportedly shocked at hearing the comment but she did not respond. Apparently, she deems Jacks remark not worth responding, and very rightly so.

A Big Brother insider said if producers thought there was abuse, bullying or racism going on, they would take a very serious view.

But anti-racism campaigners are demanding BB bosses take action if it is proved Shilpa has been the victim of racially-motivated abuse.

 

It's official: Ash, Abhishek engaged !

Movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have agreed to get married, according to sources in Mumbai’s show business.

From all accounts, the star couple had received the sanction of their parents.Film industry sources said Abhishek had popped the question to Aishwarya on Sunday.

In the evening, there was a Bachchan-Rai family dinner.

For the last three months, there has been much conjecture about the possibility of a marriage between the two, who have co-starred in four films, including the just-released Guru.

The wedding date is expected to be announced soon.

So far, the 31-year-old actor has not committed himself to any date before the media.

Ash who was crowned Miss World in 1994, told media and fans that she would like to share her marriage with everyone."I'm a normal girl. I do believe in the institution of marriage. It'll be a joyous occasion for me and one I'd like to share with everyone," she said.

 

Hairdresser tried to strangle Tanushree !

A high-on-drugs hairdresser first burnt Tanushree Dutta's hair on the sets of Priyadarshan's film 'Dhol'- and then tried to assault the actress.

Eventually the police had to be called in to restore peace.

That day, Tanushree's regular hairdresser could not accompany her for the scheduled shoot of 'Dhol' to Pune. As a last minute replacement, the actress settled for a new replacement hairdresser.

Sources present on the sets suspected the new hairdresser of being high on drugs most of the time.

However, finally the hairdresser, in her dazed state, ended up burning Tanushree's hair.

When Tanushree turned around, she saw the hairdresser's eyes all blood-shot, trying to grab her neck. She tried to strangle the actress.

The police was summoned. There was a hold-up in the shoot for almost two hours before the hairdresser was taken away by the cops.

Govt.supports Shilpa on 'Racism' issue !

India on Wednesday formally asked the British government to look into alleged incidents of racism against Indian actress Shilpa Shetty and take action against those involved. The actress allegedly received racist slurs from British participants of a television reality show, Big Brother, of which she is a part.

The spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs, Navtej Sarna, said the British government has been urged to deal with the incident according to their laws.

The Indian High Commission in London has been asked to look into details of the incident and report to MEA headquarters in New Delhi. A spokesman for the British High Commission in New Delhi confirmed that an official from the MEA had called them seeking more information on the incident.

Britain's Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, who is visiting India, condemned the incident, the High Commission spokesman said.

Referring to 10,000 complaints having been received from viewers of the show, Brown said,

Goody kicked out of 'Big Brother' !

British television star Jade Goody, accused at home and abroad of being a racist bully for her treatment of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, was evicted from the "Celebrity Big Brother" show on Friday.

The 25-year-old was favourite to be kicked out by public vote after she was cast as the villain of a programme that has triggered protests in Britain and India, prompted a sponsor to pull out and now threatens Goody's lucrative career.

Even top politicians have weighed into the row, which has dogged a visit to India by finance minister Gordon Brown.

"There is a lot of support for Shilpa," Brown told reporters earlier on Friday after visiting Bollywood producer Yash Raj Chopra and film stars at a studio in a northern Mumbai suburb.

"It is pretty clear we are getting the message across. Britain is a nation of tolerance and fairness."

Shetty, an A-list Indian star, was called a "dog" on the show. Housemates refused to learn her name, referred to her as "the Indian" and "Poppadom", and model Danielle Lloyd said: "She should fuck off home. She can't even speak English."

The stunning actress, who is all set to debut as a secretary in Albert Brok's new comedy 'Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World', has admitted that instead of people having any problem with her name, which she had otherwise presumed, they paid more attention to the size of her boobs.

"I went to Los Angeles and they told me to get boobs. About five different times they have suggested I get breast implants," Contactmusic quoted the horrified actress as saying.

However, Sheth dismissed these suggestions, and was happy that she has been blessed with "a healthy self-image".

"I just laughed because my body is in proportion. I'm not buxom by any means but I'm a small girl so how much bustier can I be? Thank God I have a healthy self-image," she said.

Ash, Hrithik to face trial for kissing !

The kissing scene filmed on Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan from the film Dhoom 2 has now come under the scanner of law, as a lawyer has filed a criminal case against the stars, accusing them of obscenity.

Shailendra Dwivedi of Indore, near Bhopal, the capital of central Madhya Pradesh state, said the scene from the movie, titled Dhoom 2, lowered the dignity of Indian women and gave an obscene message to youth.

"Bollywood actors are conveying vulgarity in the society," Dwivedi said. "These films cannot be watched with our families, they are so vulgar at times."

A local court accepted Dwivedi's petition to punish the actors and said it would hear the petitioner on December 11.

The Indian censor board, which certifies all films, released the movie with a "parental discretion" certificate.

A telephone number has also been given for booking purposes. When called on the number, a male voice reported that names are never disclosed but high-quality is assured. All that is required is a three hours prior notice.

An enraged Tanushree, who has been shooting for Priyadarshan’s Bhagam Bhag in Pune said, ‘ I as an actress, have conducted myself with utmost dignity and respect in Bollywood and I do not want to lose all that at a snap of finger because of some lousy website. Besides legal action, I will also report the matter to the Mumbai’s cyber crime cell.’

Ash-Hrithik lip-lock is fine, says Rakhi

The Aishwarya Rai-Hrithik Roshan liplock in the recently-released movie Dhoom 2 might have offended many viewers but item girl Rakhi Sawant does not find anything obscene in the kiss between the Bollywood stars.

Interacting with reporters, Rakhi, who was here for publicity of Sony Television's Bigg Boss programme, said the kiss between former Miss World and the Krrish boy on celluloid was in keeping with the scene's demand.

However, she refused to comment on singer Daler Mehendi's younger brother Mika's forced kiss with her.

The 'item girl' said she had been landing in controversies and in order to get rid of them she went to Bigg Boss, where she got much-needed respite and rest.

She said she wanted to remain away from controversies but life had many ups and downs like "roads in India".

On protest by Bajrang Dal activists during her stage show, she said she had nothing against them and she bowed to them.

Urmila Matondkar is thrilled to bits. She has just returned from shooting the video for a song that she has sung with the legendary Asha Bhosle for Shamir Tandon's album.

'I've always been one of Ashaji's biggest fans. We go back a long way. She has known me from when I was a child. She had sung in one of my Marathi films as a child actor called 'Sansar'.

'Then, of course, her husband R.D. Burman composed music for my 'Masoom'. The couple has seen me grow up.'

'I was thrilled when after 'Rangeela', for which Ashaji sang two of my best songs, she had said I can carry off any clothes and that no matter what I wore I looked like a child. In fact, the biggest compliment to me was when people thought songs like 'Khallas' in Ram Gopal Varma's

Boss first for Rakhi Sawant !

Rakhi Sawant’s re-entry into the Bigg Boss house was almost a foregone conclusion from the time of her ouster.

But Sawant was believed to be weighing her options, as returning to the house would mean foregoing year-end stage shows. Said boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi,

“December ka mahina ho aur Rakhi jaisi artist free kaise hongi. She had lots of shows coming up.” But the lure of TV proved stronger.

“I think being on national television is more acceptable and credible than performing on stage.

Working on TV will give her more respectability,” says Sawant’s secretary Manoj Prabhakar. He adds she had offers from Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai to perform on December 31.

Rajesh Kamath of Endemol, which produced Bigg Boss, said the decision to have Sawant in the house again “was more because of the public sentiment.” HT

"Yeah, I met Salman Khan," the report quoted her as saying. "Well, he is hot for sure."

BEVERLY HILLS (CALIFORNIA): Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia has just finished doing a high-profile American television commercial for a new line of luxury skincare products.

The commercial was shot over several days in Beverly Hills and features the glamorous Neha, with the glitzy Hollywood as the backdrop. However, the name of the product is still under the wraps.

The commercial was directed by Tim Mewton, who is known as one of the most innovative and creative directors in television.

"This is the best example yet of the huge crossover movement taking place between Hollywood and Bollywood," Mewton said in a press statement.

Apart from the commercial, recently Neha became the brand ambassador for Police, the international eyewear and watch company.

Speaking about her association with the brand, Neha said "police and I have a lot in common. We both are young, hip and upcoming."

SEX ! on 'Big Boss'???

It could be a first in Indian television history. The 13 celebrity contestants in Sony’s much-hyped reality show Bigg Boss will have to undergo HIV tests as precaution because there are chances they will have sex on the show.

The show is based on the international reality TV hit Big Brother, in which a number of contestants live together for three months while avoiding being voted out in a public poll.

They are on camera all the time. The grand prize for the winner of Bigg Boss — Rs 50 lakh.

Many contestants had voiced their apprehensions and even wanted to opt out of the show, as they did not want to take the HIV test.

Contestants will undergo counselling

Chief creative head of Sony TV Sandiip Sikcand agreed that the participants had to undergo HIV tests.

“We have a rule for all participants. They also have been taken for counselling to psychiatrists,” said Sikcand.

He denied that any contestant had reservations about being tested for HIV. Sikcand said the tests were part of the rules being followed by Big Brother.

Is there a possibility of the contestants getting physically intimate in the show? “We haven’t planned anything! If the contestants do get intimate, there is nothing to stop them. We would not show any nudity and edit the scenes, as this is a family show,” said Sikcand.

When asked whether the participants have carried any contraceptives with them, Sikcand laughed and said, “The contestants may have, but we haven’t provided them with anything.”

The format of Big Brother has been altered in many countries. For instance, countries like Hungary and Poland have different rules, which allow sex and nudity on screen.

In the Indian version, cameras would not be allowed in bathrooms and there would be censorship on content.

Sexy Koena starves herself !

For the second time in one year, Koena Mitra has been bed-ridden due to stones in her kidney.

After the first attack last year, the actress underwent a rigorous protein diet, which worsened her condition.

"Koena is extremely conscious and has been living only on boiled chicken and egg whites. But surviving on a protein diet is harmful for health," informs her secretary Rikku Rakeshnath.

The actress suddenly felt acute pain in her lower abdomen and called for help. "Koena stays alone. Her friends organised medical help for her immediately," says Bobby Darling, who rushed to be at Koena's side when he got to know about the incident.

"She was feeling weak and the doctor had to give her a few bottles of glucose water," adds Rikku.

Koena has been following a strange diet schedule for the last few months. "She has been shooting incessantly and insisted on a protein-only diet. One should understand that the body needs a balanced diet. It's sheer luck that she was at home when the pain occurred," says Rikku.

Koena has been advised to avoid fruits with seeds and sour vegetables. She will have to drink adequate water and maintain a balanced diet for some time now. TOI

Actress Sherlyn Chopra a.k.a Mona Chopra was arrested by the Police in Alibaug for doing a bikini photo-session on the beach without permission.

The cops filed a case alleging semi-nudity and escorted her to the court where she was released after pleading guilty before the judge and paying a fine.

20 Bollywood Beauties in One Song!

It can't get bigger than this. For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, as many as twenty actresses from Bollywood will come together in a movie song.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is creating a record of sorts for the title song of his movie 'Hey Baby'. The movie, starring Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Fardeen Khan and Vidya Balan, is the first full-length feature film by Sajid Khan (director).

The movie's title song, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, introduces the three heroes and shows their love for women.

To get the right impact, a huge and lavish set depicting a nightclub has been created in Mumbai's Filmcity and as many as 500 dancers have been called from the UK.

But the real feast for the eyes in the song will be cameos by 20 Bollywood heroines.

According to reports, they are: Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, Celina Jaitley, Dia Mirza, Ayesha Takia, Amisha Patel, Koena Mitra, Neha Dhupia, Minissha Lamba, Payal Rohatgi, Amrita Rao, Aarti Chabria, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Riya Sen and Sophie Chowdhary.

There is also a possibility of roping in Sameera Reddy and Sushma Reddy. Grapevine says Lara Dutta, Bipasha Basu and Preity Zinta might also be among the twenty.

The song will feature the three heroes dancing with the twenty girls one by one. The number will be choreographed by Farah Khan.

Salman Khan is becoming increasingly more open about his relationship with model-actress Katrina Kaif,though almost inseparable off-screen, have never performed on stage together.

After making an appearance together at an Aids awareness programme in Mumbai, the duo will perform for the first time on stage at the Global Indian Film Awards night at Kuala Lampur in Malaysia.
