Both of them are flying high after their respective films, Rang De Basanti and Omkara and now two of Bollywood's most sought after actors, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be coming together for the first time on screen.The man who made it possible for this unlikely jodi is none other than ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam - for his next 'Lajjo'.
Though the project is being kept under wraps, we spotted the trio the other day in a suburban studio, doing a photo shoot for their forthcoming film.
"We are just doing a photo shoot to get a look and feel of the characters and there's still time for the film to start," says Mani Ratnam who flew down from Chennai especially for the shoot.
Kareena who is very excited about the role will have to learn Urdu."There will be Urdu classes and lots of dance rehearsals," Kareena told recently in an interview.
Kareena will play the title role, Lajjo, who is a Rajasthani village girl.
"I need to restructure my body too, because Indian clothes require a different physicality. I'm a foodie. So I need to burn up the extra calories," said Kareena.
Kareena, being an ardent fan of Aamir, is very excited to work with Mr.Perfectionist.
"I am a huge Aamir Khan fan. I have seen all his films, read all his interviews."
"I'm really looking forward to working with Aamir. I've always been in awe of him. Just watching him at work is a learning experience".
"I have known him since the time he worked with my sister in 'Andaz Apna Apna' and 'Raja Hindustani'".
"I'm a wide-eyed Aamir fan. I bought tickets and saw 'Rang De Basanti' six times," gushed Kareena.
